Friends of the Library
The Friends of the Kings County Library is a member-supported nonprofit organization that advocates, fund-raises, and provides critical support for the Kings County Library. Formed in 1984, our purpose is to foster and focus the community's interest in the Kings County Library.
Friends of the Library support the library by:
- Holding Bi-Annual Book Sales
- Online Book Sales (click here to buy books)
- Sponsoring the Summer Reading Program for children, teens, and adults
- Helping recruit volunteers
The Friends of the Kings County Library meet on the second Thursday of each month at 1:00 p.m. Please contact the library at 559-582-0261 for meeting location.

Library Advisory Board
The Kings County Library Advisory Board represents the library to the Kings County Board of Supervisors. The Library Advisory Board consists of 5 members who are appointed by the Kings County Board of Supervisors.
The Library Advisory Board collaborates with the Library Director to improve library service throughout Kings County. Its role is to advise the Library Director and the Board of Supervisors on budgetary and policy decisions.
Each member serves a 4-year term. 2 members shall be residents of the City of Hanford and 3 members shall be county-at-large residents.
